Solarud: The piece that was missing

We know how to get power anytime.

The soiling problem affects solar power plants all over the world, with more or less impact depending on the location, the rain frequency, and the cleaning routine. The studied impact of soiling on production is discussed in our blog.

We created a solution that reduces the soiling on solar panels. The direct consequence is the energy production rise and the increase of the duration of the cleaned modules after the clean.

Usually, the dust gets more concentrated at the bottom of the modules, near the frame and the corners, taken by the rain. The solarud guarantees the water flow during and after the rain.

We recommend installing at least 2 water drain clip per module if they are in the vertical position and at least 3 if the solar panels are installed in the horizontal position. There are no tilt limits to the installation of Solarud clip since it works even at 3°.

NOTE 1: In the rotative East-West installations, we advise that the Solarud installation is at the bottom of the modules when they are in the sunrise position;

NOTE 2: It is only aplicable to modules with frame

Solar Water Clip

Solarud’s photovoltaic water drainers are the only ones in the market adaptable from 28mm to 40mm modules, providing a one-size-fits-all solution for different projects. Whether you are dealing with different module heights or last-minute supplier changes, Solarud safeguards against the unforeseen, ensuring you always have the right piece for the job.

Our water drainers are designed for reusability. Should a module need to be replaced due to malfunction, there’s no need to buy new pieces. Our water drainers can be adjusted to fit the new module, proving their durability and flexibility over time.

We are the only ones on the market with an ‘anti-clog’ design. Our photovoltaic water drainers can withstand harsh, dusty, or sandy climates, ensuring longevity with minimum maintenance. The moment there’s water, any solid particles are flushed out through our drainers’ broad channels.

We understand that every project is unique. If your modules fall outside the 28-40mm range or have different hooks from the standard 8-11mm, we can custom-make pieces for orders over 100 units – a service unparalleled in the market.

We offer a unique Nano piece for situations where solar modules are close to each other, providing a solution without the need for adjustments or module removals.

Solarud products are designed and made in Europe, standing out in a market dominated by Asian competitors. Our use of native UV resistant technical plastic attests to our commitment to quality and durability.

The Solarud main objective is to remove the stagnant water accumulated at the bottom of the solar panels. This easy adaptable water drain clip, which stays locked to the module’s frame, drains the water and the smaller dust particles, preventing the appearance of hotspots on solar cells and increasing the power generation.

The Solarud is more effective in rainy environments or humid atmospheres.

How to Install:
First you should fit the upper side of the piece in the upper side of the frame. Then you just need to push the down side in frame direction until hear a click. See it for yourself.

Solarud Nextgen has Anti-clog design that avoids clogging through the deposition of dust and sand. Solarud Nextgen has bendable plastic bits that allow it to fit any frame height between 28 and 40mm (and thicknesses between 8 and 11mm). Solarud Nextgen water drain clip is robust, UV resistant, and can withstand temperatures up to 105°C. Solarud Nextgen has a warranty of 6 years. The Solarud Nextgen water drainer is a device that is plugged to the solar module to prevent the accumulation of dust and soiling. We always recommend to use two Solarud pieces per solar panel if they are in portrait position and three if the modules are in landscape position for a better performance.
